Preschool Program
Each child is a complex, unique being with his/her own strengths and needs. Based upon an assessment of these needs and parent and staff observations, we design an Individual Education Program (IEP), stating specific objectives for each child The target skills are selected because the need for them occurs frequently and naturally m the child's daily life. Research documents that preschoolers learn by experience. Exploration, getting involved with materials and interacting with peers occurs naturally within the play environment and are the building blocks for learning. The play environment is structured to work toward IEP goals and objectives.
Since the classroom provides learning opportunities to language development, social skills, fine and grass motor development, we choose Occupational Therapy/Physical Therapy (OT/PT) and communication Disorders Specialist (CDS) services in the classroom during naturally occurring situations whenever appropriate.
